Homes peppered with bullets in northeast shooting

CALGARY – Police are investigating a shooting in Monterey Park that left bullet casings scattered along the street.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Anaheim Circle N.E. just after 1 a.m. on Monday for reports of multiple shots fired.

“There was a rapid fire [of] shots,” says neighbour Tim Adams. “Literally somebody was unloading a clip.”
“At first we thought it was an air gun,” he adds. “Within a couple of minutes, there was a Mustang that went by. Police came through… HAWCS [helicopter] was up.”

Two homes and a white Mazda were hit by bullets, but police say no one was injured.

The Mazda was parked in front of one of the homes that was struck.

“That’s scary,” says neighbour Mike Brar. “I’ve got two daughters…. I’ve never had any issues around here before.”
