Surprise guilty plea in child pornography case
CALGARY- The man facing a number of child pornography charges made a surprise guilty plea on Tuesday.
Bojan Ambrus, 34, admitted to 17 charges, including making child pornography, luring and possession of child pornography. He had initially plead not guilty, and was already mid-way through his trial.
Ambrus now faces deportation.
“If the accused person receives a jail sentence of two or more years…then he will lose his right to an appeal before the immigration appeal division,” explains defence lawyer Jeinis Patel.
Ambrus was convicted previously for sexual assault with a girl under age 16.
