Calgary man accused of luring girls found guilty of sexual contact

CALGARY- A man accused of luring teenage girls online has now been convicted of sexual contact with a teenage girl.

Bojan Ambrus, 33, is accused of hacking into a young girl’s Facebook account, posing as her then manipulating other girls.

On Friday, a judge found him guilty for an unrelated charge of sexual contact with a girl under 16. It’s believed he met the 15-year-old online, then met with her numerous times for sex. While Ambrus said it was consensual, court found he should have known the victim was underage.

“He did not find the accused credible, relative to the information given to the court with relation to the age of the complainant,” says defence lawyer Jeinis Patel.

Ambrus now faces jail time, along with deportation.

“If a person has already served six or more months of jail, there’s a right to appeal a deportation order. But you might lose that right when you serve more than six months, so there’s a live issue of deportation as well.”
