VEGREVILLE, Alta. – A Saskatchewan man is facing charges after RCMP in Vegreville, Alta., had to deploy a spike belt to stop a suspected impaired driver who was speeding at an excessively high rate down Highway 16.
RCMP say they got several calls from concerned motorists Thursday about a suspected impaired driver.
Police tried to pull the vehicle over but failed.
A spike belt was eventually deployed at Elk Island Park with the assistance of Sherwood Park RCMP, bringing the pursuit to an end.
Duane Michael Boser, 49, of Edam, Saskatchewan, has been charged with flight from a peace officer while being pursued, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, impaired driving, possession of marijuana and theft of gas.
