Two-year-old allegedly abducted by father in Ottawa found safe, police say

OTTAWA – Police have concluded an Amber Alert after a two-year-old boy was allegedly abducted by his father in Ottawa Thursday afternoon.

The boy was taken by his father, 24-year-old Kevyn Lex Menard, around noon Thursday at Tunney’s Pasture in Ottawa, police said. Menard is now in police custody and charges are pending.

Witnesses said they left on foot from an outdoor family barbecue at Tunney’s Pasture in the city’s west-end, according to police.
