Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car on Macleod Trail South and 71st Avenue.
The 22 year-old man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the 20 year-old driver of a Mitsubishi Lancer remained on scene. He was travelling southbound on Macleod Trail South at the same time the pedestrian was attempting to cross Macleod Trail at the south crosswalk.
Police say witnesses on scene recall the driver had a green light. Speed is being investigated as a factor in the crash. Police also believe alcohol consumption by the pedestrian may have played a role in the collision.
Northbound and southbound Macleod Trail was shut down for several hours before being open to traffic again.
