Note: Alberta Justice confirms that charges against Danny Bohaychuk were withdrawn on October 12th, 2014.
CALGARY- The case against a radio DJ charged with assault has been put off.
Danny Bohaychuk, 50, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend back in February. He is better known as ‘Red Dawg’ at Calgary radio station CJAY 92.
Bohaychuk’s former girlfriend Natalie claimed the pair had been dating since last summer. She said they broke up in February, and that she was attacked while collecting her belongings.
“He suddenly snapped, came up in my face,” she remembered. “He grabbed the door. Not the handle but the door itself with both hands, and smashed my ankle twice.
“I was left with almost a dozen bruises.”
Bohaychuk and his lawyer refused requests for comments, as did CJAY 92.
The case is due back in court on May 8.
