REGINA – A local restaurant owner is appealing to the public to help him catch a persistent burglar.
“So, here, he’s kicking the bars, trying to break them. Can’t do it, no luck,” said Chris Plumb, owner of Mercury Café & Grill, as he showed Global News security camera footage of the break in.
Two people, who appear to be men, broke into the restaurant when it was closed after midnight on April 10th.
One man attempted to open the already-emptied cash register before running off with the point-of-sale machine, something Plumb says can only be used by him.
Plumb believes one of the men has broken into his restaurant twice before.
“I take the money out of the building everyday – it’s gone. There’s nothing here. And even if they were to try to get something in the safe, good luck to you! Good luck, I hope you have a crane,” he said.
Plumb is offering a cash reward for the return of the machine or any information that can help him find the perp.
