UPDATE: Kelowna man wanted in woman’s death arrested

UPDATE: Global Okanagan News has learned that Quigley, the man wanted as a person of interest in the death of Parkes, has been arrested.  Two plain clothes officers on routine patrol spotted an SUV matching the description in an alleyway on the 500-block of Coronation Avenue. Quigley was inside the vehicle. He was arrested without incident.

KELOWNA, B.C. – Kelowna RCMP investigators believe a woman found dead in her home Tuesday was murdered.

“Her death was deemed to be suspicious and investigators believe that tomorrow’s autopsy results will confirm that she was murdered,” says Cst. Kris Clark in a press release issued at 4:50 P.M. Wednesday.

Police found the body of Amy Jane Parkes, 35, in her Lakeshore Road mobile home Tuesday morning after she failed to show up at work.

RCMP are now asking the public for help locating a person of interest, her boyfriend whom she lived with.

Ryan James Quigley’s current whereabouts is unknown.

He’s described as:
• Caucasian male
• 34 years old
• 5 ft 10 in (178 cm)
• 154 lb (70 kg)
• Brown, medium length curly hair
• Green eyes

Police are looking for a burgundy or purple 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara, bearing licence plate 944REL, which is known to be associated to Quigley.

“If you see QUIGLEY, do not approach him, rather call 911 immediately,” says Cst. Clark.

“Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Ryan James QUIGLEY, the vehicle, or the investigation in general is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP, Cst Meyers, at 250-762-3300.
