EDMONTON – Police were called to a home near Castle Downs Road around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, after area residents found a man – possibly in his 40s – who appeared to have been the victim of a beating.

An investigation led officers to a home in the area of 168 Ave. and 109 St. After blocking off surrounding streets, they searched the home for additional victims but did not find any.

The three people who were inside the home have been taken into custody and are being questioned.

There’s still no word on what, if any, charges will be laid.

“We’re still investigating the circumstances,” said Acting Staff Sgt. David DeMarco of EPS’ northeast division. “There’s still a lot of information we don’t know.”

The victim has been taken to hospital, and the surrounding area that had been cordoned off has since been re-opened.
