The Kelowna SPCA is trying to find a home for a cat who’s been through a traumatic situation.
Suzanne Pugh, Branch Manager of the Kelowna SPCA, says the cat they’ve named “Mandy”, was brought to the shelter by RCMP about a week ago.
Pugh says a passerby saw a young man kicking a cat, and, pulled over to try and rescue the animal.
That’s when the abuser tried to light the cat on fire.
The passerby was able to grab the cat, and call RCMP.
After “Mandy” was checked over at the Fairfield Emergency Clinic, she was delivered to the SPCA.
Pugh says she’s grateful to everyone who had a part in saving “Mandy.”
The cat is now up for adoption, and RCMP are looking for suspects.
