Security officers bear sprayed outside Saskatoon mall

SASKATOON – Saskatoon police are investigating a bear spray incident that took place outside Midtown Plaza on Friday afternoon.

This incident stems from a man and a woman stealing from a store located in the mall.

When the two suspects left the mall area, security officers attempted to apprehend them and bear spray was used on them.

A 17-year-old female suspect was charged with theft under $5000, breach of probation, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and assault with a weapon.

The male suspect fled prior to police arriving.
