EDMONTON – Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning for several areas in central and northern Alberta Thursday morning, including Edmonton.
The warning was issued at 6:10 a.m. Thursday for the Capital Region,
The freezing rain created slick conditions on roads in the Capital Region Thursday morning.
The temperature was expected to rise above the freezing mark by Thursday afternoon, and a rain/snow mix was expected for Edmonton and the surrounding area throughout the day.
Global News Weather Specialist Mike Sobel predicted the temperature would drop to minus 15 degrees celsius by Friday, with five to eight centimeters of snow falling in the Capital Region.
