Peter Meiszner is an Online News Producer at Global BC, home of the province’s highest-rated news programming.
As the first online staffer at the station, he helped integrate new media with the traditional newsroom. Peter established Global BC’s successful social media presence on Facebook and twitter. He has produced several provincial and federal elections, the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Winter Games and the Stanley Cup riot.
Peter was born in Nanaimo, B.C. and has been with Canwest Global and Shaw Media for nine years in various capacities including online news editor, publications coordinator and communications specialist.
He is a graduate of the BCIT Broadcast Journalism program (2004).
Peter has a particular interest in stories related to architecture, design, urban development, real estate and civic politics. He lives and breathes social media and how it can help facilitate a two-way conversation between our viewers and the newsroom.
