Halifax Regional Council is approving a pilot project to start a sobering centre for the city. It’s an alternative to taking an intoxicated person to a police “drunk tank.” It’s been an issue for the city since Corey Rogers was arrested for public intoxication and died in police custody in 2016. As Amber Fryday reports, his mother believes sobering centres can save lives.
