Defeat Depression – a non-profit organization working to raise awareness and funds towards mental health – has made its debut in Peterborough. The local branch of the campaign has already made its fundraising goal of $10,000, but continues to urge residents to donate after it was revealed that one in five Canadians will suffer from a mental illness next year.
