Coronavirus outbreak: New study suggests earlier social distancing in U.S. may have saved approximately 54,000 lives

A new study from Columbia University released Wednesday showed that had social distancing measures been put in place in the U.S. just two weeks earlier than they initially were, the country could have prevented approximately 54,000 deaths through May. The study comes as the CDC has released guidelines on how states should reopen.
