Some First Nations leaders call for logging moratorium above Peachland
Description
March 22, 2019
It was an unusual gathering in a remote area -- representatives of the forest industry, First Nations and local municipalities among those coming together to talk about water quality. Friday's forum above Peachland was hosted by the Okanagan Nations Alliance. Some of its leaders blame logging activity for a drop in water quality and want a moratorium. Forestry reps disagree, but acknowledge logging must be done properly. Kelly Hayes has more.
