Eight officers at the Surrey Pretrial Services Centre are recovering after being assaulted by an inmate while on the job on Tuesday.

Surrey RCMP says a tip from a keen-eyed citizen on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside has led to the arrest of a man who escaped from the Surrey Pretrial Centre on Thursday.
