The long-awaited, $700,000 process asks firms to come up with three different options for viable, resilient solutions to protect the roads, dikes and infrastructure on the Chignecto Isthmus.

Residents in Lakeville Corner, N.B. say flood water damaged two bridges along Route 690, a stretch of secondary highway that runs from the Maugerville-area through several communities to Minto. Residents and drivers hope to see the bridge repaired as quickly as possible but are still waiting to hear from the provincial government on how long the bridges will be closed.

The Lincoln bridge is closed "indefinitely" due to damages. The bridge links Fredericton and Oromocto and residents say the closure will greatly impact traffic to and from the airport and CFB Gagetown.
