Most film and TV productions in Canada are on hold due to the Hollywood writers' and actors' strikes, which industry insiders say will have an impact for some time.

The guild says the key issues include wage differentials as the minimum wage increases, as well as wage increases that are retroactive to expiry of the last collective agreement.
