CALGARY- A third man has been charged in connection with the death of an 18-year-old, following a brawl outside of a downtown bar.
Lukas Strasser-Hird was stabbed to death early Saturday morning, outside of Vinyl following an altercation between two groups.
Nathan Paul Gervais, 18, and Franz Emir Cabrera, 19, already face murder charges in connection with his death.
On Thursday, police arrested a third person, and have since charged Joch Pouk, 20, with second-degree murder.
Police say the victim was swarmed by a group of up to 10 people, and more charges are anticipated.
“We have to send a message. One of the strongest ways that police and the justice system and courts can send a message is when we charge people for being involved in these things,” says Police Chief Rick Hanson. “We are going to be relentless in our investigation to charge whoever is involved in any incident like this.”
A memorial will be held for Strasser-Hird on December 1, at Abundant Life Church. Click here for information on how to make a donation.
