Congratulations! You have finally finished school and are starting your first real professional job. You are probably the youngest, and arguably the poorest still paying those student loans, so how can you look as put together as your more seasoned peers on a budget?
The answer is simple really – stick to basics.
Invest a little more of your cash in a great pair of gray or black trousers and source out a great fitting black pencil skirt. Get a neutral-coloured cardigan, crisp white shirt, and for those sleep in days a wrap or shift dress (less co-ordinating required).
Try to get on mailing lists for stores you like to shop at but can seldom afford. Often they will send out insider deals and advance sale notices.
And don’t forget that consignment stores can offer unique pieces on a dime. Most consignment stores these days will accept only high quality pieces that are still in style. Consignment stores are also a good way to trade in your old student clothes for cash to purchase new workplace items.
It takes time to build the wardrobe of your dreams but follow these tips and you will have fun along the way!
