Officials are investigating a late-night blaze at a home on Ellington Street.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of the house fire in the street’s 0-100 block on Aug. 3, at 11:46 p.m. The fire was declared under control within an hour.
As crews searched the unit for any residents, they said one person was found dead at the scene.
The city’s emergency social services team responded to assist residents in the area.

There is no word yet as to the cost of damages, but an investigation of the fire is ongoing.
