Alberta RCMP said Tuesday that although a missing couple from Red Deer was found dead, “foul play is not suspected.”
Beverly Lampert, 63, and 82-year-old Richard Vanderbroek were last seen on Wednesday, June 21. It’s believed they were travelling together in a white Chevrolet Colorado toward Cranbrook, B.C. They were expected to return on Sunday, June 25.
Both Lampert and Vanderbroek required medication that “likely” needed to be renewed, the RCMP release said.
On Saturday, RCMP said the couple was found dead close to Highway 22 near Crowsnest Pass. An RCMP spokesperson told Global News police were investigating the incident.
On Tuesday, two autopsies were done by the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary.
Red Deer RCMP said “foul play is not suspected.”
However, the deaths are still being investigated by the Southern Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit, with assistance from Crowsnest Pass and Red Deer RCMP.
