Residents of Cadotte Lake in northern Alberta were told to shelter in place on Monday morning after reports of shots being fired, said Peace Regional RCMP.
However, in a release issued at 11:45 a.m., RCMP said officers had found a suspect vehicle in connection with the incident and three suspects are in custody.
In that same news release, RCMP said the shelter in place has been lifted and there is no risk to the community.
There were no injuries police confirmed to Global News.
Police continue to investigate.
Few details about what happened were released. On Monday morning at around 10:20 a.m. RCMP received reports of shots being fired at a local business, prompting them to ask people in the area to remain in their homes or businesses.
They said they believed the suspect or suspects are in a stolen pickup truck.
Before arrests were made, the RCMP said anyone who sees the vehicle should call 911 and not approach the vehicle or suspects.
Anyone with any information should call RCMP at 780-624-6611 or the local police. Anonymous tips can be left with Crime Stoppers.
