WINNIPEG – The directors of the Winnipeg Football Club have officially appointed Wade Miller their president and CEO.

Miller, who has been the Blue Bombers’ acting president and CEO since Aug. 9, is a Bomber Hall of Famer and businessman.

“The club is in my blood and I won’t rest until I set things right with fans, and that means putting a competitive product back on the field that is capable, in the years ahead, of restoring the pride in this once-storied franchise,” Miller said in a news release.

“That is what we owe our fans and that is what I’m 100 per cent committed to doing.”

Board chairman Brock Bulbuck said Miller is a strong, progressive leader with the right combination of football and business experience.

Miller’s first order of business will be to hire a general manager, after which the club will be able to turn its attention to coaching. Kyle Walters is the current acting general manager and head coach Tim Burke was nearly universally criticized as the Bombers lost their way to a 3-15 record this season.
