‘Mad Men’ star Christina Hendricks to host beauty awards in Toronto

TORONTO – Emmy-nominated “Mad Men” star Christina Hendricks will take centre stage at the upcoming P&G Beauty & Grooming Awards in Toronto.

The actress, who portrays Joan on the hit AMC drama, will host the fifth annual ceremony set to take place on Dec. 2.

Kim Cattrall, Queen Latifah, Nia Vardalos and Rob Lowe have previously helmed the event.

The awards honour Canada’s beauty, grooming and fashion editorial talent and also recognize leading makeup artists, hairstylists, photographers, art directors and models.

A record 316 entries were submitted this year for the awards, which will honour 20 winners across 15 categories.

“We’re so proud of the growth and success of this event, and each year we’ve welcomed spectacular hosts, presenters and guests, but the focus has always remained the same – celebrating the truly remarkable Canadian talent in the beauty and fashion industry,” P&G Canada president Thom Lachman said in a release.
