The Delta Police Department says it continues to investigate the disappearance of Joseph Chen as a missing person, however, the focus is now on a recovery mission
The 14-year-old was last seen on March 2 around 4:30 p.m.
The investigation determined that he had taken public transit to Annacis Island and then was last seen walking on the east sidewalk of Alex Fraser Bridge.
Delta police said Thursday, March 23, that while the investigation remains open to all possibilities, the police focus is now one of recovery.
On March 5, Chen’s family made a public plea for his safe return home.
“(Our) son has been missing for three days, for over 60 hours now,” his mother and father said at the time.
“We need help. We can not phone him, and he hasn’t used his credit card. He hasn’t used his compass card.”
