Toronto police said officers received a call for unknown trouble in the area of Morecambe Gate and Victoria Park Avenue around 11:50 p.m.

An altercation between two men resulted in one stabbing the other with a “sharp edged weapon,” according to police.

The man was taken rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police named him as 37-year-old Kirk Cargill.

Toronto police said the suspect fled the area. They later arrested a 27-year-old man — Geoffrey Luyeye — and charged him with second-degree murder.
