Red Deer family ‘located safe’ after being reported missing Monday: RCMP

Hours after asking the public for tips about a family in central Alberta that was reported missing, the RCMP announced all five missing people have been “located safe.”

Early Tuesday morning, police issued a news release saying they were contacted by a local school on Monday after a number of students from a Red Deer family, who were seen earlier in the day at the school, had gone missing. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance “were unknown under concerning,” police said.

In all, police were looking for a Red Deer mother and her four children.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, police announced all five were accounted for but did not say where they were found or what happened to them.
