An elementary school in Waterloo was placed under a hold and secure by Waterloo Regional Police for about an hour on Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after 2 p.m., the Waterloo Region District School Board announced that Edna Staebler Public School had been placed under a hold and secure at the request of police.
The board said the ongoing situation was outside of the school and that classes had remained in session.

A police spokesperson told Global News that officers are in the area looking for a man and are concerned for his well-being.
Shortly before 3 p.m., the board announced that the hold and secure had been lifted.
