Global News is projecting Patrick Johnstone has been elected as the new mayor of New Westminster in the 2022 B.C. municipal election.
Johnstone will replace two-term mayor and longtime mayors’ council chair Jonathan Cote, who did not seek re-election.
Global News also projects incumbent councillors Jaimie McEvoy and Nadine Nakagawa have been re-elected, and will be joined by newcomers Roby Campbell, Tasha Henderson, Paul Minhas and Daniel Fontaine.
