Missing 11-year-old Stratford, Ont., girl located following amber alert

An 11-year-old girl from Stratford, Ont., who was declared missing on Tuesday has been located after an amber alert was issued across the province, police say.

Stratford police said the girl originally went missing on Tuesday morning and was last seen around the Rotary Complex in Stratford.

At around 5:37 p.m., an amber alert was issued in Ontario asking the public for assistance locating the girl.

Police confirmed the girl had been located with “assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police and York Regional Police” in a tweet just before 6:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing, officers said, although they did not release additional details.
