TORONTO – Staff and kindergarten students at Mary Shadd Public School will celebrate the reopening of their playground after it was destroyed in a fire last spring.

The play structure was burned to the ground on May 7. Three people have since been charged in connection with the fire in Toronto’s Malvern area.
Over $75,000 was raised to rebuild the playground for the students.
The Toronto District School Board has set up a special reopening ceremony Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
