MANOR – Officials in a small community in southern Saskatchewan have decided their volunteer fire chief will be reprimanded for having a heated argument with a French resident.
Danielle Duperre had called 911 asking for help after spotting large flames in her neighbour’s fire pit in the village of Manor.

She then taped a tirade from the chief on her cellphone, during which the man swore and yelled at her to go back to Montreal.
Village administrator Lisa Ironside says the comments were inappropriate and the mayor and council have given Duperre an apology letter.
She says the fire chief will be reprimanded, although she’s not sure what penalty he might face.
Duperre says the fire chief, who has been unavailable for comment, can’t control his anger and needs to resign from his job.
