Police curfew check leads to weapon and drug charges

EDMONTON- Edmonton police officers who were conducting a curfew check last Friday found much more than they expected.

At the home, located in the area of 16th Avenue and 42nd Street, police found a man and woman who were in breach of their conditions, related to dozens of charges laid in February.

After searching the home, police found a 9 mm handgun, two long barrel firearms, several knives, $3,000 in cash, $3,360 worth of cocaine, $320 worth of methamphetamine, $800 worth of heroin, and an assortment of pills. Several cell phones and drug paraphernalia were also seized from the home, police said.

Joel Tate, 23, has been charged with 14 counts of firearms and weapons offences, seven counts of breach of recognizance, and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Willow Boles, 30, has been charged with six counts of firearms and weapons offences, six counts of breach of recognizance, and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
