A 100-year-old woman is critically injured after a collision in Toronto’s north end on Tuesday, officials say.
Toronto police said emergency crews were called to the scene just west of Leslie Street and Steeles Avenue East at 11:49 a.m., for reports of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.
Paramedics said the victim was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
Police initially said the woman was in her 70s but later updated that she is actually 100 years old.
Police said a 64-year-old man driving a 2019 Subaru Forrester was waiting to make a right-hand turn when the woman was hit.
The driver remained at the scene, police said.
