Police are seeking to identify a suspect after a stabbing left one man with life-threatening injuries in Toronto.
In a tweet Friday, police said officers received reports of a stabbing in the Beverley Street and Dundas Street West area.
Police said a man was located suffering from a stab wound and was taken to hospital.
Toronto paramedics said the call came in at around 8 p.m.
Officers said he was in potentially life-threatening condition.
In a press release, Toronto police said two men were involved in a “verbal altercation.”
“During the altercation, the suspect retrieved a knife from his apartment and stabbed the man in the chest,” the release reads.
Officers said the suspect then fled the scene.
Police are now searching for a man around five feet, eight inches tall with a thin build, as well as long, red hair worn in a ponytail and a long red beard.
Officers said the man was seen wearing a backward black hat, a brown camo jacket, white or cream button-up shirt, black shoes with white soles and was carrying a backpack.
“The suspect is believed to be in possession of a large kitchen knife and is considered to be armed and dangerous,” the release said.
