UPDATE: Charges laid in homicide at Edmonton Institution

EDMONTON- Homicide detectives have laid charges against four people in connection with the death of 32-year-old Ryan Holteen at the Edmonton Institution on Sept. 26.

Kimani Crawford, 20, and Roderick McNeil, 26, were charged with second degree murder.

Christopher Macoon-Evans, 24, and Randy Tuccaro, 33, were charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Police were called to the maximum security facility in northeast Edmonton around 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26.

EMS crews also responded to the call, but the inmate was declared dead at the scene, from multiple injuries, police said.

An autopsy has been conducted, but the exact cause of death has not been released.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) added that Corrections Canada was very cooperative in this investigation.
