Badger Baby SPF 30 sunscreen and Badger Kids SPF 30 sunscreen have both been recalled in Canada and in the United States.

U.S. reports say that 30,000 tubes of the kids’ sunblock have been recalled after they were found to contain Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida parapsilosis and Acremonium fungi, according to the company’s website.

Those with compromised immune systems or with conditions such as cystic fibrosis, HIV/AIDS, lung disease, cancer or diabetes are particularly vulnerable, Health Canada says in its recall.

“These bacteria can cause serious infections including pneumonia, bone infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, meningitis, and blood infections,” the federal agency warned.

So far, no adverse reactions involving the use of these products have been reported.

The products were sold across Canada.

Canadians are advised to check their medicine cabiets and storage spaces. Any recalled product should be returned to the store where it was purchased.
