Halifax Regional Police say a woman who has been missing for more than two weeks has been located and is safe.
In a news release Thursday evening, police thanked the public for their help.
Last week, Marley Alicia Morris’ father spoke with Global News and issued a public plea for help in hopes of getting her home safely.
He confirmed on Thursday that Morris had contacted her mother by phone, and the information was relayed to police.
The 24-year-old had last been seen in downtown Dartmouth on Feb. 18 and was last in contact with someone on Feb. 20.
Her father, Fabian Francis, said on March 4 his daughter is funny, outgoing, and kind.
“She has a son that she loves very much,” he said. “We’re just all worried about her. We miss her and just want her home.”
He went on to say that her disappearance and lack of contact was out of character.
He also said he was touched by the community support he had received, and he said people were looking out for her on reserves across Canada. Morris, who is an Indigenous woman, was known to travel to Eskasoni First Nation in Cape Breton.
