Richmond RCMP said a serious incident took place around Garden City Road and Leslie Road late Tuesday night.

On Wednesday morning, IHIT said initial information indicated this is a targeted shooting, believed to have occurred on Monday around 7 p.m., but is not connected to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.

The identities of the victims were not released, but they are believed to have known each other, IHIT said in a release.

IHIT is asking anyone who may have been in the area or who has CCTV footage to contact them.

“It is a traumatic incident the community is waking up to,” Sgt. David Lee of IHIT said in a release. “Our investigators are scouring the area looking for information as this event unfolds. We hope to provide the community with answers soon.”
