TORONTO – Miley Cyrus won’t be twerking down the aisle with Liam Hemsworth.

Reps for the on-again, off-again couple confirmed Monday that Cyrus and Hemsworth have called off their engagement.

Cyrus, 20, and Hemsworth, 23, fell in love while making The Last Song in 2009 and were engaged in 2012.

Earlier this year, though, rumours swirled that the couple had split up after Cyrus was photographed in public without the 3.5-carat Neil Lane ring Hemsworth used to pop the question.

Those rumours were quelled in July when Cyrus flew to Edmonton to spend time with Hemsworth, who was shooting Cut Bank in the city. The pair enjoyed a romantic weekend at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

It wasn’t the first time Cyrus and Hemsworth spent time together in Canada. In June 2010, Hemsworth accompanied Cyrus to Toronto, where she was hosting the MuchMusic Video Awards.

On their first night together in the city, Cyrus took Hemsworth for dinner at The Keg Mansion – a favourite restaurant of the singer, who grew up in Toronto’s Beach neighbourhood while her father Billy Ray Cyrus filmed the TV series Doc.
