Man killed trying to remove tree from Cape Breton property

SYDNEY MINES, N.S. – A 60-year-old Nova Scotia man is dead following a strange accident in Cape Breton.

Cape Breton Regional Police say the man was killed late Saturday as he was trying to remove a tree from a property in Sydney Mines.

Investigators say the man was struck by a piece of equipment as he tried to remove the tree with a vehicle of some kind.

Nova Scotia’s Labour Department has been called in to investigate.
