Polish Olympic team members at Big White

Warm weather on the coast has driven an international ski team to Big White for training.

The Polish Olympic Snowcross team was excited about the snow at the Okanagan ski hill, because it’s scarce at Vancouver area mountains.

Big White is one of the few North American resorts with a public snowcross track.

Coach Marcin Sitarz along with athletes Maciej Jodko and Mateusz Ligocki arrived today.

Ligocki represented Poland at the Olympics in Turin, Italy in 2006. He won the World Cup final Competition in the 2007/08 season.

‘I wish the Snowboard cross race was taking place here at Big White, the snow conditions are great and it’s a great course!” says Ligocki.

They’ll be training on the hill for the next four days.
