Peel Regional Police say a 27-year-old man has died after a vehicle crashed into a pole early Friday.
Emergency crews were called to Rathburn and Creditview roads at around 5:30 a.m. for reports of a crash.
Const. Heather Cannon said one vehicle was traveling southbound on Creditview Road when at some point it veered off the road and crashed into a pole. The vehicle also rolled several times, Cannon added.
Cannon said a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“I can’t confirm if speed is a factor,” Cannon told reporters while answering questions. “That’s why our major collision bureau is here, but there is significant damage to that vehicle and unfortunately someone is deceased as a result.”
Investigators said they are trying to confirm if a second vehicle was involved.
