“All suspects have been released from custody without charges, and our investigation is ongoing. At this time we believe this incident was caused by someone carrying an imitation firearm in public,”  Insp. Adam MacIntosh of the Kelowna RCMP said in a press release.

“Fortunately, the matter was resolved safely and professionally by our officers without incident.”

The apartment is in the 1900 block of Pandosy Street, and it was around 5 p.m., when RCMP shut a large portion of it down to traffic and pedestrians.

Area residents said the police presence was significant in the several hours before a man, who RCMP learned lived in the building, was apprehended.
