Arcade Fire to kick off new season of ‘Saturday Night Live’

MONTREAL – NBC has announced Canadian band Arcade Fire is set to perform on the Sept. 28 season premiere of Saturday Night Live, which will be hosted by former cast member Tina Fey.

The band made its first appearance on SNL in February 2007 when it performed “Intervention” and “Keep the Car Running” from the album Neon Bible.

Arcade Fire made its second SNL appearance in November 2010, , performing “We Used to Wait” and “Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)” from the album The Suburbs.

The band’s third appearance on the show was in May 2012, when it played backup for Mick Jagger and infamously wore red squares to show support for the Quebec student protests.

Other hosts booked for the new season of SNL include Miley Cyrus on Oct. 5 and Bruce Willis on Oct. 12 (with musical guest Katy Perry).
