Emergency crews were called to O’Connor Drive and Pape Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m. for reports that a pedestrian was hit.

Police said an 81-year-old man was crossing O’Connor Drive northbound mid-block when an 82-year-old man in a black 2011 Porsche Panamara driving eastbound struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was thrown into the opposite lanes of traffic on O’Connor Drive, investigators said.

He was then struck by a second vehicle travelling westbound, driven by a 40-year-old man in a 2018 Acura RDX, police said.

Police said the pedestrian was initially trapped under the second vehicle and a passerby was unable to get him out.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead after being extricated from the vehicle, police said.

Paramedics said they were assessing another person on scene.

Police said the driver of the Porsche did not remain on scene but later contacted police and is cooperating in the investigation.

Investigators said it is too early to say if charges will be laid.
